Liturgia Diurna

Calendarium Romanum

Offline-first: the calendar, ranks, colours and citations are all computed locally in your browser. Tap any citation to read the passage; the verse text is the World English Bible (Catholic), which its publisher eBible.org has dedicated to the public domain, and is fetched once and then kept. The Bible explorer reads and searches the whole canon the same way, in this page. The optional “check against open data” button (in the Hours section) reads metadata only from the open-source Liturgical Calendar API.

The Hours print what this project may print: scripture from the same public-domain Bible, and the prayers, hymns and antiphons whose wording is public domain or long out of copyright — the traditional English of the older Roman office. Where the current edition’s own wording belongs to a publisher, that part says so in place, in the part’s own place, and prints nothing. Every part says where its text comes from.
